You are Frend, and you are late to a Halloween party. Unfortunately the party is in space.

Your shuttle was delayed, everyone else is already there, and now you have to work your way through a bunch of increasingly ridiculous 3D puzzles to catch up with them.

Use a huge control pad to control a character in another room, who can then walk onto another huge control pad to control another character, who can... you get it.

As the puzzles get more complicated, the screen splits into more and more views so you can keep an eye on everything you're controlling at once. Before long you're moving Frend around while also trying to remember which little guy is controlling which other little guy on which completely different part of the screen.

Spooked In Space was made for GMTK Game Jam 2021 with the theme "Joined Together." It is short, weird, and very much held together by game jam logic.

How to Play

1. Move Frend through each area and look for the big control pads.
2. Step onto a pad to move the character or object connected to it.
3. Move that character onto another control pad to start controlling something else.
4. Keep stacking those controls together as each puzzle adds another layer.
5. Watch the different screen views and try to remember who is currently controlling what.
6. Somehow make it all the way to the Halloween party.

What Makes It Different

Spooked In Space is basically a puzzle game about controlling something that's controlling something that's controlling something else.

Each new area adds another layer. The screen keeps splitting into more views, more characters start moving at once, and the simple act of pressing a direction eventually requires remembering a small family tree of control pads.

It's a little confusing on purpose, a little confusing because it was made during a game jam, and that's most of the fun.
